Horse farm on 301 @ McKendree?

So what happened to it? We used to love seeing it when we'd drive by going into 'dorf, etc. Then all of a sudden a few months ago, it's just boarded up and vacant. No "For Sale" sign or anything.

My Dad used to comment that he loved looking at that farm.

Horses and deer sharing the field between the house and the creek, at the county line.

It is a nice farm.

I believe the old man died about 10 years ago, about the time the farm started being in disrepair. I was told it is in family estate issues..

Across the street the farm with the two brick homes in the middle is owned by Mr Curtis of Curtis Homes.
When he moves that property will become either commercial or homes also.

They had a white horse that my kids claimed as their "Maximus".
It looked like it was rented for a bit but I'm not sure

That used to be known as "Curtis Sky Ranch" years ago.
They had a Cessna that flew in/out of there all the time.

I thought that the Curtis' sold that place about 15-20 years ago.

Is he still alive?!?!?!?!

One of my family members owns a irrigation co and did some work around one of the brick houses the Mr Curtis lives in about 5 years ago and around the three hole golf course all the way in the back above the pond. He was alive then. One of his sons lives in the other brick home. Mr Curtis has a unbelievable Colt single action collection.

Property was sold off several years ago to a developer. I knew a few people that boarded horses there before it was sold. If you go down McKendree Rd you will see the start of some of the development. I believe the 301/5 road frontage has been rezoned commercial and will eventually be another strip mall. Ya
