In the same vein as the Tribulations in the Bible, I believe our fight to save the Constitution is about to get harder. We've seen how corrupt the Republican Party is, as well as the libs & the rest of the swamp. President Trump is our last best hope in all of this, but if all those against him succeed in taking him down, the slide into socialism is inevitable. Bloomturd & his minions were successful in destroying Virginia as they have been in other states. We've been able to stem the tide here through our efforts in Annapolis, but I fear they will be emboldened this year. I'll be there again to testify as I'm sure others will be too, but I'm afraid they'll be introducing so many anti 2A bills we'll need to rent hotel rooms in order to put in the time to be there. Coonman Northam will surely pay Bloomturd back by pushing everything but the kitchen sink in his attempts at destroying the 2A. This virus will surely spread past maryland. I pray Trump hangs around long enough to appoint at least another Supreme Court justice, but I'm not confident in the legislature to confirm them. It might eventually take something drastic to convince scotus to rule against 2A infringements, if they have the balls. Or it might simply be a divided country as the result of widespread violence because of multiple deaths from red flag enforcements, firearm confiscation killings, or even multiple assasinations of politicians who have backed gun control.

Anyway, my point is it'll take a huge kick in the ass before enough people come around & see what's happening to the US. I hope it won't be past the point of no return if/when that happens.

Honestly, the loses of Republicans (or Democrats seats) is cyclical and dependent on which party is in the white house. We saw gains with Obama and now loses with Trump. Its history continuing to repeat itself. Though one party is certainly doing everything they can to retain their power. Stupid party vs evil party, as I have been told.

Virginia is in trouble (IMHO) in fact the nation is as well just as you are eluding to . President Trump has shined a spotlight on the way our government leaders steal and cheat . I am 60 years old and I think it will take a few years to get to the point of un-bearable but unless we elect Constitutional Politicians we are going to be swallowed up .

I have a funny suspicion the further we get away from God the faster the end or a civil war may start .

One thing for certain, civility is dead in this country. That said, the hopes of any type of intelligent conversation between the two opposing sides is basically gone. Everything is a shouting match from Congress to your local Popeyes.

I believe there will be a large amount of civil unrest in the future. Neither I nor anyone else have a timeline for this however.......if "The Donald" wins in 2020 ( which I hope he does) , I believe the fit will hit the shan.

I HOPE that the Supreme Court will one day soon provide the rulings that we keep hoping and thinking they ultimately will. Frankly though, the longer they survey the increasingly volatile landscape in this country, and the longer they continue to dilly dally, the less confidence I have that they will ultimately answer 2A challenges in a way that we keep hoping and thinking they will. These issues clearly scream for closure. They have for many a year now.

Why no real additional action this past decade since Heller? Possibilities abound I suppose. But the one that I wonder most about? If there is knowledge amongst the current justices that they still aren't populated today with enough votes to rule in favor of striking a growing tide of 2A infringements, then perhaps ignorance is bliss. By that I mean, we might have even bigger problems than we think we have.

I don't think that many amongst us want to really think long and hard about what next steps might look like, should the Court continue to fail to act. Or worse still, if they should indeed act, and then state that the 2nd Amendment doesn't mean what it says. I could be wrong, but I struggle to see that picture being in any way pretty.

Andy Jackson is said to have told listeners that COTUS had made a decision, let them enforce it. Would Dems in power today say the same thing about a 2A decision they oppose?

Concur completely with that. I've seen more than a few articles pointing in that direction, and one Fox pundit opined that there is a 51/49% chance right now (he hedged on which side was which, however).

Me, I'm quietly buying reloading supplies and extra ammo whenever I can. :innocent0

The same applies if the dumbs win and actually enact any major shams they're running on...

    From VCDL this morning...
We don't just have an uphill battle against an anti-gun GA majority and governor. We have too many apathetic gun owners, too many ill-informed gun owners, too many who want to blame somebody else, too many who don't want to take an active role in protecting their own liberty, too many who want someone else to do the leg work. And this is from an audience of several thousand Virginians focused on firearms. This is an audience enjoying their 2A Rights, but have a dozen excuses why they won't step up and be part of the effort to save those Rights. I'm sure the people who staff displays for NRA, GoA, SAF and others hear the same thing. But this is US, you and me. Your VCDL. Your Rights. Your families. Your communities. Your Commonwealth. The next few months and the next two years will determine who we are. It's up to us to define who we are, grow our numbers and stand the post protecting the Rights endowed to us by God...... not Ralph Northam.
Like I said, it's gonna take a kick in the ass before the majority wakes up. That kick is going to be something huge, & not in a good way.

I worry the kick in the a55 may not come. I tend to believe it will be the continuing “Nudge”

I worry that it will come. We really don't want another (un)Civil War.

If nudges can get the job done, I'm for them. It may take longer, but the recovery will be far less traumatic.

I think I was misunderstood... the Nudge that I worry about is from the left. Before Uninformed 2A folks realize it their right have disappeared. The kick in the ass that is supposed to wake them up is just a never ending series of light pats on the ass.

    I think it's already started:
    • Presidential Impeachment sham/Soft Coup
    • State government elections bought by oligarchs
    • Antifa activity on the coasts
My motto continues to be "Prepared, not surprised"

Soo, besides the fact that civility is basically dead in this country, along with the destruction of the 1st Amendment, add in the "Balkanization" factor.

Now, this country has in it's history been "Balkanized" numerous times before. We were a fractured country right before the Revolutionary War. We were also fractured right before the Civil War of 1861-1865.

I pray that history does not repeat itself. I'm trying to remain positive. The country has weathered the storm before.......but at a huge cost.

Nothing personal, but...if you think Trump is the last best hope, the war has already been lost.

Trump election was the canary in the coal mine.

Subsequent events amply demonstrate that the Republic is in danger from within, to some extent aided and financed from without. Failing to heed the warning will lead to the republic being lost.

Look to the 2020 elections for the answer. Another four years of constitutionalist court appointments could save the situation, though it would still continue to be more than a little uncomfortable, Dem takeover may lead to disaster, especially if they continue to shove unpalatable legislation down our collective throats.
