    They don't care about an idividual's rights, it's about the social collective that a few can control. That's why they use the typical responses:

    *Think of the children.
    *It's for the good of the community.
    *We are a civilized society, we don't need weapons of war anymore.

    The short answer is "The People" gave them the right.

    The mere fact they have been elected means they can do anything they want, until they are told to stop by a judge or the voters next election.

    They can vote that they have the ability to flap their arms and fly like a bird, too. Doesn't mean it's going to happen.


    "They" didn't give me that right, and "they" can't take it away, either.
