So for the past several years my local gunshop has sold the Del-Ton 316 with Magpul furniture. Now last month MSP has listed them on the ban list.

They have a heavy barrel and met all of the qualification to be legal in MD. So I wonder how many of this exact model was sold in MD legally since 2013 and now for no reason they are listed as banned.

Anyone have any additional info on this.

The Del-Ton on the banned list is the Echo 316. That has a standard barrel. The Del-Ton I've seen in the stores is the Del-Ton 316H with the heavy barrel. That is not on the banned list. However, if you go to the Del-Ton website, it lists both the Echo 316 and 316H as unavailable to Maryland. I'm not sure why. The barrel is heavy and 16" long and the minimum OAL is 32"+.

I sent Del-Ton sales an email message asking about this.

The MSP list is not absolutely correct. If it's advertised or stamped as an HBAR then it should be legal.
I'm sure others will chime in with opinions.

The 316H is advertised with a heavy profile barrel.

The Del-Ton 316 Echo would have been banned since Oct. 2013 since it does not have a heavy barrel.

Why all of a sudden is the Echo 316 showing up on the ban list?

Because someone asked MSP thier opinion on it

The Echo 316H is not on the list

It's listed as "unavailable in MD" because it comes with a 30 round magazine.

I just got an email message from Del-Ton. They will ship the Echo 316H to a Maryland FFL as long as the dealer requests it to be sent with 10 round magazines.
