Six months ago I moved out of Laplata after 21 yrs. It was great while it lasted.

The deathblow to Laplata is when Rosewick connected with St. Charles Pkwy.

My mom was telling me when she first moved to Indian Head that dad had to drive to Laplata for prescriptions because there wasn't a pharmacy--just Slavin's Drugstore.

And between WW1 and WW2, Indian Head was the economic center of the county with La Plata a 1 horse town with a few tobacco warehouses. Interesting how the economic 'center of gravity' of the county has moved around over time.

I’m done with here as well. I moved here in 2015 and the drive to JBA was 39 minutes. Now it’s taking me 1+ hr each way at 5:50AM to get to work…it’s even worse than LA traffic…and then you have the charger and mustang guys driving on the shoulder to overtake you and I’m surprised there aren’t more fatalities
