Electrostatic painting is designed to work in place with no over spray. It's great in volume commercial applications, but the good equipment (Ransburg) is quirky and expensive. This causes most electrostatic companies to have a high minimum charge. ($750).

A soft sprayer(HVLP) with decent paint could do a nice job if you can protect from overspray (garage or lots of tarps).

Safe doors are very heavy, but if you can remove it and take it to a shop- powder coating will give you the longest lasting finish.
