Having never purchased new brass before, I'm curious about the first bag of 100 pieces of new Starline 458socom brass I just received. Counting as I went along and having a new 100-count sleeve of CCI350 primers, I ended up with an additional 2 pieces of brass. (102 total). How common is that?

I've purchased plenty of pulled and overrun bullets and sometimes get a few % extra to cover any incorrect or damaged bullets, but new bullets have always come out exactly to count.

Just struck me odd and I'm definitely not complaining..

Very common, usually get 1 or2 extra pieces of brass.i think they do that as some necks get crushed beyond repair in shipping

Thanks for the confirmation.. like I mentioned I never bought new brass before but these 458socom have been elusive in trades or used. Thankful it’s such a low pressure round, the brass should last a long time

I feel cheated. I got the same 458 socom starline brass and got exactly 100 on the nose.
