I can afford the trigger now :) went through my budget and checked. Would I lose points if I wanted an ACOG for an optic? :P (Used one downrange, they take a beating and keep on working)

Acogs are great. My only personal complaint is the fixed magnification, but if you have fought with one and know it, then use that thing. :)

Yes. I would've figured you'd go with a little more power in the glass category but, like the man said " if you tough with one..."

Nice rifle. Put a bull barrell on my ar10 build and have been afraid to weight it. Probably do some preachers curls with it.

lol I actually had one of my children do that with the rifle :P
If I have to go with something other than an ACOG, might look at the Nikon M-223/P223 as a second choice.

Nice rifle OP. Like Chad said, get a Geiselle; reliable and accurate. For a bull barreled rifle I'd go with a higher power optic than an ACOG, something like a Nightforce NSX Compact 2.5-10x42. Nothign wrong with an ACOG, I have one on one of 16" barreled rifles but the better optic will let you really wring the last bit of accuracy from that bull barrel.

I laugh every time someone complains about 12 pound ARs being too heavy. My NM A2 is around 17 pounds and I shoot it offhand. Granted it is a dedicated match gun not a field gun.
