I don't claim expertise in understanding Ballistic Curve, but as I understand it, when shooting .22lr 40g @ 100 yards the rise at 50 yards is just under 3". I think, from memory, an imperfect source, that when shooting 150 yards, the rise at 75 yards is about 13". To me, this makes it difficult to accurately use .22lr rifle beyond 100 yards. 10-11 MOA correction for the next 50 yards required good distance judgement. Not meant to be exact. If grossly wrong somebody will say.
I use either a BSA Sweet 22 3-9x40AO rimfire scope (<$100) or a Midway exclusive BSA Mil-Mil Tactical 4-14x44 SF FFR 1/10 Mil MRAD 30mm scope ($249 on sale). The Sweet 22 has separate turrets for 36, 38, and 40g ammo and is fairly accurate for .22 bullet drop compensation depending on ammo out to as much as 175 yards. This is also made in a 6-18x40 version. Newer ones have side focus parallax adjustment instead of AO adjustable objective, and have the different scales for different bullets on a single turret, plus they a little cost more.
I find with my eyes I like more power so likely I may switch to a higher power scope.
