I don't know if we want to encourage them. The response may be to make things even harder on the decent people, as usual.
As an aside, I think what we need to do during the 2018 session is harp on MS-13, and the number of Marylanders including juveniles who have been murdered by them. And how the state's chief law enforcement officer (Frosh) has done nothing about it while busy pursuing his own personal social agenda and suing Trump.

Maryland refuses to share any mental health records for one. It's not a big secret.
Maryland has no interest in preventing prohibited persons from purchasing.
Their goal is to discourage law abiding citizens from purchasing. In another generation or two there will be so few gun owners they will then be able to ban whatever they want.
No, they should be required to fund the lawsuits from their personal funds, like the rest of us.
Not a fan of the lawsuit, but I'll be contrarian here and say that DOD/AF did screw the pooch on this issue. They need to follow their own regs.
