I have been wanting to move out of MD now for years, but the past couple years have shown me it's not safe for 2A people anywhere. PA and VA are getting hit by liberals hard. Florida is going anti gun. The dems are pushing hard to turn GA blue. Colorado turned pretty anti 2A. Vermont is fighting. AZ has Mark Kelly running with his common sense gun control platform, and Kristen Sinema (sp?) that won in AZ. The libs are fighting hard in Texas, especially Austin, but my buddy in Dallas says they are there now as well. Some of the traditionally red states that had a pro 2A policies are under attack hard. I have been kinda interested in WV or TN, but wonder how long before they fall. Sadly, I don't think moving is the answer anymore.

Here's what's interesting to me. There are a number of states now in which the population of the largest city dictates what rights can be exercised by the rest of the state. If they did decide on confiscation, I submit they will have a hard time getting beyond the immediate suburbs. More and more rural sheriffs are saying "screw you and your anti-gun laws." It's beginning to become "city-states" vs. the rest of the country.

A very interesting perspective and not untrue.

I have seen many articles where sheriffs warn of dire consequences if gun confiscation is enacted. Warnings of revolution, and them not helping with anti 2A infringements, which is good. While there are great people in the police force, I think the majority in the MSP and local police departments will tow the line. My former neighbor who was in the National Guard and was deployed during Katrina and the Baltimore riots told me he had a feeling something was going to come around. Never specified, so take it for what its worth, nothing. But the Guard and PDs did confiscation of both arms and supplies during Katrina. When I think of resisting, I think of a swarm of officers outside my house while I am home, shouting for me to come out, I am surrounded. What if I get pulled over on my way to work or home, while I am unarmed, and they ransack my home while locked up? What if they levy fines, but I can't afford to pay so they put a lien on my mortgage, freeze my credit, bank accounts under some made up domestic terror move? I mean, Pelosi has already hinted at the possibility in declaring it a national emergency, and patriotic gun owners would be the enemy. They wouldn't go hard after the urbanites who commit most of their gun crimes. Their parents vote for them. Their spouses depend on the govt. It's hard to resist directly when you don't know exactly how they will ccome at you, or more importantly your family. I have made some contingency plans. I think I may one day have to give up some guns. But only the ones I "have". I am sure by now, with cyber sleuthing and FFL records, they have a pretty good idea who we are, and what we may have. I am sure they know my name might be Brian Frosh, and I might have a M60 machine gun hidden in my pornstache.

Speculation about what may or may not happen is kind of like listening to stories about the boogey man when you were a child, they only serve to instill fear about the unknown.

We have some acreage in the Geo Washington Nat'l Forest off the Blue Ridge Pkwy.

I doubt anyone trying to confiscate firearms in that neighborhood would have much success. If we relocate there, I'll buy a backhoe, just as a community service.

Meh. I'm going to be a PA resident here sometime soon. I've been a lifelong Harford County resident, am so close to the PA line, and want to try something different/move into even more rural than where I'm at now. There are plenty of negatives in PA; local taxes, yearly car inspections, trying to find rural area property/house that has been decently maintained

Better 2A is cool, how long will that last? Dunno, probably a lot longer than it takes for a lot of the goofy MD shit to align with other states 2A.

I'm really looking forward to not having a front license plate. LOL

The 2A fight will reach every state. As stupid liberals ruin their states, they move to other states bringing their ideals with them. They don’t realize those are the ideals that ruined their former state. Lather. Rinse. Repeat.

Pennsylvania is becoming a blue state just like Delaware and Virginia. Running will get you no where in this region.

I believe so. If something like that happened at the State House, the Libs would go crazy. But it might be fun to watch. :innocent0

And as for me, I stand on the shoulders of giants.

And then I came across this tonight. I've seen it before; I sense it's being republished for a reason.

Asymmetrical & Fourth Generation Warfare: How Militia Groups are America’s Domestic Viet Cong
    https://thewashingtonstandard.com/a...litia-groups-are-americas-domestic-viet-cong/
...When one discusses the real reason for the Second Amendment – the right of citizens to defend themselves against a potentially tyrannical government – inevitably someone points out the stark difference in firepower between a guerilla uprising in the United States and the United States government itself.

This is not a trivial observation. The U.S. government spends more on the military than the governments of China, Russia, Saudi Arabia, India, France, United Kingdom, and Japan combined. Plus, the potential of a tyrannical government is arguably upon us – with the federal government spying on its own citizens, militarizing local police departments with equipment and tactics from the War on Terror, and repeatedly searching Americans, which desensitizes them to this invasive process.

There is much historical precedent, however, for guerilla uprisings defeating more powerful enemies. For instance, the Cold War saw both superpowers brought to their knees by rural farmers – for the Soviets, their adventure in Afghanistan against the Mujahideen, and for the United States, the Vietnam War against the Viet Cong...

Ponder, if you will, the role of the urban counterparts of the "hillbilly viet cong." And INFOWAR and PSYOPs. The PP is one analog of those.

Brothers, they wont do ANYTHING you are speaking about in here. They will ban a certain rifle and they wont come door to door or do anything else. We will either bury them, move them to friends and relatives out of state, etc. Either way you will not dare take them out of the safe place to shoot them or anything else out of fear of being the one who gets caught. At that point they have already won. You might have access to it, but by not using it or practicing with it, they get what they wanted.

Possibly, possibly, they might do the one thing described in an earlier post and try to "economically starve" you into compliance. As for a Katrina episode, I do not plan on being here or if I was, I will not be answering the door for anyone but close friends and relatives.
