Thank you, that is what I meant. A pistol buffer tube with a brace and folder on the buffer not the stock.

As long as it is not a stock, yes it's legal to have it fold to the side.
It's worth noting that you can't fire an AR, pistol or otherwise, with the buffer tube folded to the side, though.

Great series to watch (keep in mind this is mostly federal law)
In order to satisfy the law the overall length and barrel length must be met. I am including a video from the gun collective youtube page. They have a ton of infromation about the NFA, federal law, SBR's, and 80% receivers and the like.
