If he ever wants to be a legitimate Republican presidential candidate he must.

If he wants to run for Congress in Maryland, he cannot.

What he does or doesn't do with this bill is the "tell".

He'll never be a legitimate candidate - ever. He's an embarrassment. He doesn't even offer the most token of opposition. He rarely utters a word during the legislative session unless it's one of his "kitchen table" or "common sense" issues that automatons think are really important as the state plunges further to the left. He can't even feign care for a bedrock issue like abortion. He's nothing.

Congressional seat? He probably thinks that's beneath him. He'd go from being a governor to a nobody in Congress. Senate? Maybe. But why? A legislative body gripped by paralysis.

His career is done after this except with the faux conservative think tanks that do nothing but peddle a "conservative case" for <insert pet liberal cause.>

He's likely very disappointed that the Mueller report is a dud - especially after the Times and other national media started to cover him a bit speculating Hogan as a Trump challenger. Unlike Bloomberg (whose trajectory he has followed in some way, even if he hasn't declared himself an independent), he has no business empire to fall back on that might confer the visibility that he's enjoyed as Governor.

His options in Maryland are limited. I don't think he could win either Senate seat - Democrats in this state will want to keep the seats in the Democratic party because of the Supreme Court. So which Congressional seat would he run for - the new District 6, lol? Probably not.

No way he gets a position in the Trump administration. No way he gets a position in a Democratic administration if they win the WH in 2020.

What's his signature issue been these days? Extending summer break for school children? Fighting minimum wage laws? Signing gun control legislation? Neither national party will want him (other than the MD Republican party should he eventually seek an MGA position - or move to Baltimore and run for mayor).

If he vetoes it, its because he's preserving executive power, nothing more.

    As if.

The only executive power in MD is reserved for those with the big "D" after their names.
