    Hi all!

I've done a bit of research on Maryland's gun laws and am a bit confused about a few things. Apparently this is normal due to badly written laws.

I live in Virginia and know that Maryland's gun laws suck. I know that Baltimore is worse (I call it "Bowelmore"). I have many "goodies" that will stay in Virginia for the year that I am in the state. Here is the scenario:

I have a stack of handguns. Many of them have capacities over ten rounds, but ten round magazines are available. I will bring only a few since I will have access to all my fun guns in Virginia.

    1) What are the requirements to bring a handgun with a:

    a) capacity of ten rounds or less?
    b) capacity of more than ten rounds?

    2) Since I own handguns already, have a stack of gun course certificates, and multiple carry permits, do I need to apply for a very silly license to purchase a handgun in Maryland?

    3) I have a box of standard, unneutered, non-Feminist Man-Child magazines. I plan to bring in **a few** for personal use only. I will not transfer them to anyone. Are there any possession and use restrictions in Maryland and/or Baltimore?

    Thanks everyone!

DO NOT TELL ME HOW MUCH MARYLAND SUCKS. I LIVE IN VIRGINIA AND AM FULLY AWARE OF WHAT I AM DOING. DO NOT CLUTTER UP THIS THREAD WITH WHINING. I AM GOING REGARDLESS OF YOUR OPINION. PLEASE JUST ANSWER THE QUESTIONS!

You can bring in any magazine you want. You cannot offer to sell or transfer them (>10 rounds) in MD.

You must register the handguns within 90 days of establishing residency. Someone will post a link to the MSP site for that.

Yes to the HQL to buy another handgun (some exceptions). You should not need the training part of it though.

    And welcome aboard!!!

    New Resident

As part of the Firearms Safety Act of 2013 effective October 1, 2013, a person who moves into Maryland with the intent of becoming a resident shall register all regulated firearms with the Secretary of the Maryland Department of State Police within 90 days after establishing residency.
The new resident registration shall include the make, model, manufacturer’s serial number, caliber, type, barrel length, finish, and country of origin for each regulated firearms. The registration system is accessible online through MyLicense.

The electronic registration fee will be $15, regardless of the number of firearms registered.

Once this is done you will still need to get an HQL but you will be exempt from having to take the class. All you will need is fingerprints and on-line application plus $50.00 fee.
