Will the NRA 8hr Pistol Course work for certification for Utah permit?

It is my understanding that you do not need live fire training for the Utah class, but if you are applying for a Florida CCW, then the NRA pistol class is acceptable for the live fire part. Just keep your certificate and send in a copy with your other information.

I just finished the Utah CFP class, and there was no live fire required.

You have to take training by a Utah certified instructor. There are no other training requirements.

Got my permit in the mail yesterday after the Dec 15 class (yes, the day after Sandy Hook). Amazing everything that has happened since then!

I'm surprised I got it this quickly, I actually didn't get it I. The mail for almost a week after the class.

No. The NRA course will work for Florida. However, Utah requires an individual attend a Utah specific course taught by Utah Firearms Instructors certified by BCI.

Absolutely. Click here to link to our class schedule We have seats available this Saturday and in all the upcoming scheduled classes. If you can only attend on a weekday evening, let us know. To register, download the registration form and return either by fax or email.

Absolutely and if you're a Maryland resident the Utah non-resident permit is valid in Virginia so you don't actually need to get a Virginia permit unless you have some other requirement or reason to get a Virginia permit.

Yes. As long as you have proof of purchase of a handgun and it is within the last 60 days.

The class today was very engageing. I learned more than a few new things.

Thanks for offering such a good class. I especially like that I left the class with a sealed envelope ready to mail to Utah. You guys are definately full service.

Kevin also supplies donuts, coffee, and actual tables (unlike some other courses I've seen where you are crammed into the available space in the LGS). So stretch out, have a cup of perk-you-up, and get fatter on donuts while filling out your forms.

Also, read the directions on the screen before you attempt to fill out the forms, otherwise you'll wind up with a "rough draft" or two like my buddy.
