I would like to build an M16A1 with a lower that I have. I see this kit has everything but the barrel.

I think I need a 20 inch threaded hbar, is that correct?

Would the front hand guard work with an hbar, i would assume the hbar is thicker than the original barrel?

Would the front sight assembly fit on an hbar?

    Um....M16? Or a semi replica?

    Q

The description says "Original Colt M16A1 parts kit made in the 1980’s. Each kit features the triangular handguard, the teardrop forward assist and original bolt carrier group. All bolt carriers will have the "C" for Colt stamped on the bolt carrier groups. Each kit comes with all parts. All you need to complete your rifle build is a barrel and a stripped lower receiver. This is the only chance to get original vintage Colt kits. Condition is good. Barrel, and Lower Receiver - not included.
Front sight assembly is in kit."

May be problematic due to barrel thickness. They don't include the happy part, so it will be a semi version of the M16. The M16s had the "pencil" profile barrels, so the front sight block may be an issue, but the frequent builders may be able to help.

For the barrel , if you get one with rhe front sight base assembled, make sure you get the correct front sight height for the retro built in hand guard and the front handguard triangle cap

    I think Delton sells one

Where is 3paul10 when you need him...?:lol2:

    He’s working till late tonight....

Another option for HBAR handguards May be white oak or compass lake engineering as the service rifle game is shot with heavy barrels and either quad rails or standard hand guards
