    I've recently come across a Mossberg 500AT

I looked with minimal effort with no results but wanted to see about adding a tube extension and making it a HD SG (keeping the wood)

It currently has a 26 inch barrel, 5+1 capacity so I'm debating extending the tube or getting a shorter barrel, or leaving as is.

I'm not going tactical with it and it looks to be in decent shape so I'm a bit torn

    Requisite foot/dog included.

    Thoughts/Critiques?

    As always, Thank You.

You need to get a 20" barrel and mag tube combo to increase the 500's capacity. There are no mag tube extensions since the front barrel mount is a blind mount....i.e., no hole for a choke tube through it.

The shorter barrels for home defense are almost as much as a new 500. I would say that get another one to play around with. The Maverick 88's are pretty inexpensive and why not have another one in the safe.
