In the Baltimore County/city region, who is still accepting transfers that are releasing in an 7 day waiting period for something such as a lower receiver for a handgun? Oh yeah, and not charging an astronomical price like Freestate Armory. Who's charging $165 for transfer fee.

    Holding the line in Baltimore
At this point you're not picking it up until after Oct 1, eighth-day release or not. If it's a "lower receiver for a handgun" (assuming that wasn't a typo) that means you have to have the HQL even if paperwork was in before the ban date.

Actually, Freestate is only charging $165 for *new* guns that they stock or can easily get, but people find it cheaper on line.

Can't say I blame them. Buying a gun elsewhere to save a few bucks is fine. But you can't expect them to bend over backwards to do the transfer for you, on a gun you could have bought from them (but chose not to), when they are already swamped as they are, doing paperwork for their own customers. Hence the "premium".

That's kind of like walking into a restaurant at 12:15, bringing your own ground beef, cheese, bun, and condiments, and asking them how much they will charge to make you a cheeseburger with it.

Now, if you are buying a used gun or something they can not readily get for you, then it's $85 ($75 + $10). Which is still a little steep, IMHO. But I'm loyal to people who treat me good.

Mrs. Safetech and I have done two transfers on used handguns @ $85 with Freestate since the price increase. Since I'm going to be there anyway shooting, it's convenient. And I have little problem paying for that convenience, because I understand that they are drowning in paperwork.

What I want, An AK receiver, they've NEVER CARRIED, NOR CAN SEEM TO GET! Thanks though.

We are still doing transfers on anything at $50 plus $10 to MSP. At this point if it is a handgun it will be delivered after Oct 1 and the new law will apply.
