I’m looking into building my first AR. I’m a little confused with Maryland laws. I know I have to have an HBAR. Is there a difference between a folding stock and a collapsible stock? Can I have a flash hider? Can I have both? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
A folding stock folds at where the extension tube meets the lower; folding the extension tube, recoil buffer and spring back against the lower/upper. A collapsible stock just changes the length of pull by sliding the stock along the extension tube.
No, you may not have a folding stock AND a flash hider...BUT...you CAN have a folding stock and a muzzle brake.
Yeah. I know. Maryland Law
So by that logic having a collapsible stock and flash hider is legal?
What he ^ said except from the mountains.I see you joined today.

I hope you are a bona fide, interested, gun owner / would-be-owner, and not a boot-licking, toady of the Jen/Liz ilk.

Can you have a flash hider and a folding pistol brace?
As long as it is a pistol build, yes. The two features rule only applies to semiautomatic centerfire rifles.

That and a pistol automatically doesn't have a stock, so it can't have a folding stock. No rules against having a folding buffer tube.
May get a rash of 18'rs with Trump now and these Maryland Bills..
Lol, what makes you say that?
@Daemon -- I was one of the '13's and didn't even know about the MD laws coming into effect that year. Glad I bought when I did though.
