I've lost 5 newborn calves to coyotes since February. Someone mentioned to me that there is a group of ppl that will sit out and kill these coyotes for me. My trapper has tried for 2 years to get them but these guys are pretty smart I guess.

So my question is does anyone here know who this group of ppl may be and how to contact them? I was also told they have a Facebook page but didn't know the name.

Thanks for any help. I'm extremely upset loosing these calves. They are being killed from the moment they are born as the cows can't do a thing - not to mention the money I'm loosing to these coyotes.

    Thanks in advance!!

You could try calling the DNR/USDA nuisance animal hotline (877) 463-6497. As per the DNR's website "Wildlife Service specialists are available to provide technical guidance or facilitate contacts with professional Nuisance Wildlife Cooperators". Not quite sure how much help they would be but it might be a place to start.

 I haven't heard of this group you speak of, but I'm sure you could get plenty of qualified volunteers here.

I would love a volunteer!!! But the problem seems to be that since coyotes travel so far there is no guarantee when they would be back. A fellow farmer in the same situation has been taking turns with his boys spending nights sitting out. I have heard they have killed 4/5 coyotes so far.

They won't eat any meat they haven't killed so they can't be poisoned.

Seriously sorry to hear about your loss. The suggestion above of a guard donkey is very true. I am in S.C. and it is common to see donkeys out with herds of sheep, goats and cows because we are loaded with coyotes. Donkeys are usually pretty cheap to buy and keep and they HATE coyotes. They look at the herd they are with as "their" herd.. Bottom line is you can kill all the yotes you want but eventually another pack will claim that territory and your back to square one..

Well you can lead a donkey to water, But you can't make him drink.
Some people don't understand that others may have already, Been there done that. You can buy a Jenny for around 300 to 1500 bucks depending on training and get rid of 5 dogs. Seems kinna simple to figure out. Exspecially when the dogs are not doing there intended job. :)
