Here is a Savage pistol Model 1915 which was purchased by Standard Oil Company of New Jersey and was shipped to them on June 6th 1916. Several model 1907's purchased by the Standard Oil Company have surfaced in recent years and we know of at least one model 1917, this is the rarest of the three model Savage pistol models made and is the only one currently in known existence purchased for use by Standard Oil.

    as Borat say.... a-vurrry naice.

a .380 1915 is hard enough to find, let alone with that kind of provenance.

There she is, very nice! These are finally starting to come out of the shadows. Still pretty rare, esp in a very low volume model 1915 in .380. MIght indeed be the only example. Would love to be able to open the Savage ledgers, see if any others were sold to SO. Or look for all examples sold to them.
Does it have the original magazine with the hold open slot/arm? Took me forever to find one for my 1915, extremely rare. Aren't too many Savage pistol fans out there, esp compared to Colt. But I think they're very neat and finally starting to get some loving in the collector world as nicer examples of Colt pocket pistols are moving out of the reach of beginner collectors.

I would agree, I would love to view the leaders as well! There isn't another pocket pistol to match the design & engineering of the Savage and I collect Colt's as well :) yes it has it's correct magazine which holds the slide back on the last round. The magazine has the number "29" on the magazine which matches the "29" number assigned by Standard Oil on the back strap.

Remington Model 51... (and another one beat out by Colt 1903 sales).
Understand the sales part, the engineering and feel of Savage in the hand rocks the others in my humble opinion. We also need to give credit Savage for the birth of the double stack box magazine design "10 shots quick".
