Any IPs have one in stock? This is specifically the krinkov style with the folding stock, short gas system, and long barrel. SBR on form 4 is ok too.

Remember, these won't be banned after 1 October 2013.

Engage armament has a couple Arsenal pistols converted into SBR's.
Thanks I'll have to make the trek up there

Remember, these won't be banned after 1 October 2013.

How would these not fall under 281? AK platforms are banned by name, along with not passing a feature test. OAL as well. Ive seen the threads saying federal (sbr) trumps all of this, is that what you are referring to?

I would assume it would be a "copy cat" under 281. Please correct me if I am wrong!

Is a short barreled rifle the same as a rifle? Copy cat weapons are Semi-Automatic Centerfire Rifles, short barreled rifles, by definition are NOT rifles. As you can clearly see below, rifles and short barreled rifles are defined separately and one is a "handgun" and one is not a "handgun".

    4-201 Definitions

    (c) Handgun.-

    (1) "Handgun" means a pistol, revolver, or other firearm capable of being concealed on the person.
    (2) "Handgun" includes a short-barreled shotgun and a short-barreled rifle.
    (3) "Handgun" does not include a shotgun, rifle, or antique firearm.

    (e) Rifle.- "Rifle" means a weapon that is:

    (1) designed or redesigned, made or remade, and intended to be fired from the shoulder; and
    (2) designed or redesigned, and made or remade to use the energy of the explosive in a fixed metallic cartridge to fire only a single projectile through a rifled bore for each single pull of the trigger.

    (f) Short-barreled rifle.- "Short-barreled rifle" means:

    (1) a rifle that has one or more barrels less than 16 inches long; or
    (2) a weapon that has an overall length of less than 26 inches and that was made from a rifle, whether by alteration, modification, or otherwise.

    5-101 Definitions

    (n) Handgun.-

    (1) "Handgun" means a firearm with a barrel less than 16 inches in length.
    (2) "Handgun" includes signal, starter, and blank pistols.

Given this, the SBR clearly is not subject to the changes in SB281. SBR's are HANDGUNS, not RIFLES!

    Thanks for playing.
