Time for California to step up and face the underlying causes of their Causes:

Ok now, natural-born ladies aside, who didnt click on that link and get a woody when it opened up?

But yes, the stupid in that article hurts. Serial number on ammo? Does that mean there will be an ammo exchange where you have to exchange non-SN for SN ammo, so you can become compliant with the new law?

No exchange, they will want gun owners to use one of those Electric Vibrating Engravers to write the S/N on the primer.:sad20:

They push for a National law to keep the flow of illegal ammo from coming in from states with lax ammo laws...

So glad we moved out of California years ago to a state like Maryland with fewer restrictions on basic freedoms. Oh, wait ... this place is catching up right quick. Dang it.

Next there will be calls for lead wheel weight registration and waiting periods because of all the criminal reloaders out there. Maybe even calls for one wheel weight a month...unless you have a collectors license.

I feel the same way. Glad I no longer live in CA but MD is also getting to be like them in some ways.

Lead wheel weights ban signed by Hogan May '17. State owned vehicles comply by this past January. Every one else, January 2020.

I assume the SN would be printed on the casing. I also assume the buyer would be tied to that number. What keeps someone from collecting your spent casings at a public range and spreading them all over their crime scene? That would be a major headache for a law abiding citizen with no ties to the actual crime.

And that is exactly the idea. Make firearms ownership so onerous and fraught with legal hazard that law abiding people give up. Eventually the pro-2A community is so small it can't put up a legal or political fight against a total ban on private ownership. It's not hard to imagine 30 years from now the 2A community is small enough for a constitutional amendment to pass repealing 2A entirely, or SCOTUS reinterpreting it away based on overwhelming popular opinion.

Or spreading many peoples casings and creating many "reasonable doubts" in the jury's mind. We found shell casings from six different people and can not say for sure which one fired the fatal round.:sad20:
