Walter p22. When new it only cycled with stingers. After a few 100 rounds it was effectively single fire to constantly jamming in every possible way. Cleaned, tried every kind of grease, changed the recoil spring, different mags. One of my most disappointing gun purchases.

    Oops, rifles.

I have a beater sears branded marlin 60 that I got at a yard sale for $20. It was in much worse shape than i thought, every part of it was damaged. I only keep it around to use as a basis of an 80% marlin.

Savage model 125 is awful. I had to drift the front sight all the way to the left to were it will fall out just to get it somewhat accurate. The rear sight won't adjust for windage.

I had an S&W Model 34 that required a small rubber mallet to extract the fired cartridges from the cylinder. Beautiful gun in nickel but Smith never could resolve the problem.

My Model 34 had very tight chambers. I polished them with JB bore compound on a brass brush. Now one finger extraction.

    I've been on a run with crappy .22s lately. I think it's a 4 way tie. ATI M4-22, Mossberg 51, Chiappa Rak 22, BCA .22 upper.

Had the GSG Firefly and I both loved and hated it. It was so much fun to shoot, especially suppressed, but it was incredibly unreliable.

"Bad" would be the wrong choice of words. But I have a Ruger 10/22 that is far and away more finicky with ammo than any other rimfire I've ever owned.

I have one that's finicky like that, too. Probably the only .22 that's even really given me trouble, honestly. I suppose I'm lucky (that or the fact I don't own any other semi-auto 22s :innocent0)

I opened this thread just to see if you were going to respond. :sad20:

 Chiappa said the magwell on the Rak 22 wasn't cut right, so the mags weren't seating properly. They want to replace the rifle. They are on back order, lol. Got a replacement BCA upper I still need to test.

Oh, I need to add these to the list:
Beretta Neos (My Dad's). Heavy and needs often cleaning cause of the firing pin design
Mossberg Plinkster AR15 cased piece of crap. Dad kept that for less than a year. Plinkster encased in airsoft quality plastic

I"ve actually had good luck with the Henry AR7 but I 3D printed my own front sight with a thinner profile. The stock sight, you need to do your own mods to tighten the front sight into the dovetail. Plus the rear sight is kind of crappy in the design and Henry did not really change it much. I"m contemplating how to make something with the 3D printer to improve on it.

Marlin 25g in 22mag...it was increcribley reliable but terribly in accurate. Tried lots of ammo but never could get it to group worth a damn at 50yds. At 100yds it wouldnt keep all its shots on a beach ball.

For all who asked about the AR-7, Armalite designed it but up until Henry brought it back, the vast majority were made by Charter... and the vast majority of those were a POS. My understanding is the Henry ones are good.

The Charter Arms AR-7 rifles have a terrible reputation for reliability. I have both an original Armalite AR-7 and a Henry example. The original is accurate and quite reliable...as long as you have a good magazine. The mags are quite variable in quality and having an original Armalite magazine keeps it going properly.

The Henry I haven't gotten around to shooting yet.
