Thanks guys. I'm taking notes on all of this. I found a source for the powder and bullets are in the mail.

FWIW, Hafer's in Hagerstown tended to have powder (especially IMR 4895) into the middle of the panic. I grabbed a few pounds over a couple of trips so I could keep my M1 Garand and FAL fed during the ammo crunch. Not sure if they are still in as good of stock, but it's always worth a phone call.

One of the often ignored powders would be N140 by Vitavouri. If you want to replicate the M2 for the Garand, N150 might be the better way to go (see Hornady reloading handbook)

Has anyone else started using Vihtavouri for garand loads? I just started looking into it myself.
