Rare and unusual bring back from Vietnam. This soldier was small in stature but large in bravery! I wonder how this WWII US rifle made it to Vietnam? Its in great shape and must not of seen much service. Photos courtesy of GunClub89 on GB.

There's any number of ways it made its way to Vietnam...could've been foreign aid to the French...aid to China during WWII...left behind by GI's in China during the war...maybe even aid to the South Vietnamese but they got M1 rifles and Carbines early on. No real way of telling. Being in good shape means it was properly stored for years or possibly supplied later to the area before being recovered.

Nice Remington! There are times when faced with interesting mysteries like this that I wish we had GunFax, a way to see the history of a firearm with the click of a mouse.

He's actual name was Bobby, not Robert? Either way, very cool story. One of my nephews is 5'2", I pity anyone who tried to mess with him. Thanks for sharing.
