    Announcement
Ruger 10-22 Familiarization Class and Shoot

The Monumental Rifle and pistol Club will be holding a 10-22 Familiarization and Shoot for members and Juniors to promote the training and exposure to varied aspects of the shooting sports and to promote participation in the Monumental Smallbore League.

    WHEN: Saturday November 20, 2021
Beginning @ 9:00 am in the Memorial Hall Classroom (AGC)
Pizza and shooting following the class.

WHO: All Monumental Members and Juniors and their families are welcome to attend.

    CLASS OVERVIEW:

As part of the Monumental Junior Coaches efforts to expose our junior shooters to various aspects of the shooting sports and to identify fun and interesting activities that explore and teach our juniors about shooting alternatives outside of precision air rifle and small bore, the Monumental Junior coaches have decided to make available to the juniors and Monumental members a Familiarization class to inform members of the diverse options, components and parts available for the Ruger 10-22 platform. For juniors and club members, the potential for a family project to build a relatively inexpensive rifle into whatever the shooter desires using abundant availability of components and choices is just the exposure the junior coaches hope to bring to the juniors and club members.

Participants will be familiarized with the Ruger 10-22 and the various models available from Ruger. Additionally, we will review the aftermarket components and some of the choices available when modifying your rifle into the style of your choice. We will discuss barrel choices, stocks, triggers and many more components and parts that are available to build and customize your rifle.

As a club, we are also exploring the possibility of making a bulk purchase from Ruger of 10-22’s which would also be available to juniors and club members. Ruger has a discount program available to NRA Clubs and Coaches. If there is sufficient interest, Monumental would like to make a bulk purchase for club members and juniors. Additional information will be made available at the class.

Participants should bring a note pad to write down some of the source and component information that will be provided at the class. Following the class, we will go out to the Barnes Range for Pizza and to shoot an assortment of 10-22’s provided by members that have gone through the process with their own projects.

COST: $5.00 to cover the cost of ammo and targets for the shooting part of the class.

REGISTRATION: Pre-Registration will be required, please send a message to one of the following:
    Michael (president@monumental.org)
    Bryant (juniors@monumental.org)
    Rich (suvall@comcast.net)
    Chuck (cramser69@gmail.com)
    Jennifer (inmywritemind@comcast.net)

We look forward to seeing many of you at the class, it will be fun, and we hope everyone will benefit from the discussion.
