So for the PS90, Tavor, etc., I guess we would have to modify a rifle that belongs to "someone else" out of state and then transfer them to ourselves in MD after they're modified into >29" when extended? What a cluster!

In addition to smdub's request for PS90 interior, anyone know what the Tavor setup is? It's on my short list but I want the 300blk (16" barrel only) with Saker mount...

Or just buy a MD legal version and modify the stock and install a normal barrel.

No. Could build/buy spacers (like are avail for the PS90), buy/transfer, then go about designing something better once its in hand and remove them.

Ask and you shall receive;) (had to dig a bit to get it out.) The upper chamber houses the back of the bolt/spring/rails. You need to keep the pin though it to hold it in place. The lower empty chamber is slightly larger than 1.2"wide, 2.5" tall, 1.6" deep. Could do something similar w/ a thin frame that picked up the upper pin and lower pivot bolt and had two rods in the lower chamber.

For your HK53 you could use an HK33A2 stock to get your length. Also with the factory sliding stock extended and flash hider it should comes in at 29.7" OAL.

So I managed to get my hands on a 33A2 stock (top) just to check out, but seems to be roughly the same size as my MP5 stock (bottom), or calculated at about 28" OAL (no flash hider). Are there different versions of the 33 stock, or are they different based on country of origin? These 33 stocks could be beneficial easier to deal with because the buttpad is removable, something I'll investigate...

In other news, I have a POF MP5 stock coming for an operation soon. I want to see if those work as well as the German MP5 did, plus make a few minor design tweaks.

Just finished up with a version to get the reverse stretch up just above 29" overall length. Extension for the A2 is about 5.75" to get there, perfect for those of us who prefer that "extra" length of pull :D

Also started a version for my HK53 clone (started life as a Vector 93 pistol), which also works on the HK91.

Next up my MPX (stamp due any day now!) and gotta get on that Tavor!

So I've kinda genetically cloned this idea. Wish I could of found aluminum but the next lightest thing and tight was plumbing pex. Let's be honest I know I'll never run my Z5RS extended so as long as it's 29" I don't care what the guts look like. But it is functional.

I'm planning on something simular for my mp5 clone, possibly a screw type like a magpul prs stock.

How did you guys remove the buttpad from the a2? Is it glued in?

On all the A2 stocks I've seen, they have been permanently attached (plastic weld or glue). But they are all a little different - pic below is a clone buttpad (top, but can't remember what brand) and its stock (middle) and a German surplus stock on the bottom. Curious what KRHynes did.

As for removing, I found thin kerf saw blades to do the trick. I clean up the surfaces on the mill so they close nice and tight.

Have you looked at the HK53/HK33 stock (upper stock in pic below)? Like the 91, it's a removable buttpad but uses a single pin, so you can attach to your MP5 clone.

Excellent, thanks for the detailed pics. I have looked at the 53/33 but I like the look of the mp5 a2 better. I'm guessing the mp5 a2 is less weight also.

    Should be good to go.

And yes, you can get an MP5K to 29" if you need to.....

I love this idea. Would you mind posting a picture of the extended stock on the k? I understand you'd never shoot it that way, but I was curious what it would look like. Thanks.

Schnejerator, you are a genius. I'm not kidding, this is pure unadulterated brilliance right here.

What would you charge to make another? I have a registered sear gun and I'd like to take the trigger pack out and use it in other guns, which would leave my MP5 host in need of being registered as an SBR (if I understand our laws right). Your solution is perfect.

Only if you intend to put a stock back on it when the sear pack is removed. Leave it disassembled and there is no problem.
