Maybe one of the pols around here who lives in reality should form a task force to examine and publicize the real issues behind the violence such as mental health, failure to enforce existing laws, failure to prosecute criminals and the general failure to hold people accountable for their actions. Invite all parties to speak at the table, acknowledge the real issues and work to present real solutions for them or be seen as the biased liars, puppets, paid spokespersons and gun haters that they really are. Make it clear that the AAGVTF was a calculated political stunt created with the sole purpose of furthering their cause of limiting and ultimately ending private gun ownership and the new task force is a non-political entity tasked to actually work towards presenting solutions based in fact and not driven by emotion or agenda. Overshadow the political stunt task farce with a real task force and delegitimize it (or further delegitimize it since their antics have already begun their own delegitimization).

PP shirts are great! WWNC shirt s should NOT be worn because the focus is on the TF.

I personally don’t see a problem with MDS shirts either

Two things. Could someone post or direct us to where the actual meeting is to be held at due to confusion in previous meetings as to the location. Second would be what type of attire is preferred. PP shirts, we will NOT comply, MD Shooters shirt or should we just go incognito with a Bevis and Butthead wife beater.
    Inquiring minds want to know.
Also what time to show up and where for our strategizing meeting.

The meeting is on the 7th floor of the Belcher Pavilion of Anne Arundel Medical Center. The parking lot is next door but the crossover bridges are only located on the 2nd and 4th Floor. If you click the committee link in the thread, it will tell you the name of the room it is in on the 7th floor. If you get there around 1730, someone will be there to tell you where to go I'm sure.

I am wearing my Patriot Picket shirt as they are attacking Patriot Pickets. :party29:

Ladies, hoop skirts are recommended to better conceal what AACo Task Farce Vice Chair Andrea Chamblee asserts is your “small penis.”

Hopefully we can caucus up prior to the meeting to formulate a coordinated speaking theme--which major points need to be emphasized. I am of the opinion that we should treat both the eight-speaker and two-minute restrictions as suggestions only. An underlying theme would seem to be that as taxpayers in the county we expect to have access to a full participation, and to be able to present substantive information/questions that are outside of the limited scope of the current process.

We don't even know who is going to be allowed to speak, the antis may just stack the eight slots with the "ermagod, guns are bad" crowd.

I think that anyone on our side who desires to speak and is afforded the chance can adapt on the fly if need be. God knows that there is a ton wrong with the TF that 16 mins wouldn't begin to cover.

The comments above represent examples of some good sound bites.

This is a national story now; expect more than the Capital Gazette as press tonight.

Here’s the opportunity that so many here say they want: to be heard in the press.

Recommend some media planning now: summarize each idea you intend to share with the press into a one-sentence “sound bite” - - this increases the chance they’ll use your statement.

    One sentence!

At least to start; it is highly unlikely the TV or print media will use your quote if it is a paragraph.

Use of abbreviations? Inside baseball reference? General audience can’t follow.

    Encyclopedic explanation? Fuggetaboutit.

If the press wants you to say more, they will certainly ask you to explain.

To control what portion of your statement does not end up on the cutting room floor, practice giving your main point as a form of response to every inquiry. You can bring your answer to EVERY question back to the point you want to make. It just takes practice.

If we're fortunate enough to get called to speak I think a great umbrella point is that this is a rigged game from the outset. The task farce members were selected to produce a report endorsing Pittman's agenda:

"I feel as though everybody, including gun owners, understands that having a gun, having a right to carry a gun, or own a gun, are something that we have to think about."

--Steuart Pittman -- Opening Remarks at the initial task force meeting

Let's get there early, sign up to speak, and organize a sequence of topics--hopefully with an overall theme/focus/demand

Hey Steuart, i think about it a lot. Plenty of states, plus DC, let me carry a concealed handgun wherever i go. Its just that my own state presumes that im a criminal. That last part needs to change.

All of you rascals in the Patriot Picket got another mention in the Sun paper this morning. Our little intern got her piece picked up by the big club.

Note that she had to assure the public that the police would be there. Of course these meetings and the HPRB have been known to get violently out of control. Not.

Representatives of the Patriot Picket, a group that has harshly criticized the task force on social media, are expected to speak tonight.
