Somehow I just stumble across this is it any good is it worth while trying and if I want to 124 defensive practice since it all seems to be the same price would it be worth getting that at what I still be able to use it for say like a falling steel challenge.
    Looking at 9mm

    Thank you

I just shot a box of that yesterday except in the 150 grain 9mm loading. I was at an indoor range and it threw, almost always,
one or two orange shards or jacket cinders out of the ejection port. But it shot well. It is a worthwhile purchase.

You need to shoot a box or two prove function and point of impact. My experience has been 115 grain and 124 grain shoot to
similar points of impact for similar powered loads.

My 9mm gun sights are regulated for 115 grain fmj and similar loads. The 150 grain load I shot impacted about 1.5" to 2.0" high and
slightly right (25 yards) since it is a heavier bullet as similar power factor.

I was also able to switch back and forth from FMJ to Syntech without any degradation of accuracy. As far as fouling goes, I have to
clean to pistol to determine that.

So because of powerfactor. The point of impact would be close? Or off this is all new to me im normally running bulk 115
Depends on how far you're shooting, and what "close" is. If we're talking 7yds, I doubt the difference would be much. At 25yds, it could be more substantial.

Heavy bullets hit higher than lighter bullets because they move slower. The gun begins to recoil as soon as pressure builds in the chamber and the bullet begins to move. This causes the muzzle to rise. The slower bullet spends more time in the barrel (bullet dwell time) so leaves with the muzzle pointed at a higher angle. Same for equal bullet weights but different velocities. Also shorter barrels produce lower points of impact because of decreased bullet dwell time versus longer dwell time of longer barrels.

Here are pics of the targets I shot. 5.5" diameter bullseye, 6 o'clock hold
    - small groups are 18 yard distance
    - large composite groups are 25 yard distance shot onto the 18 yard target
    - the groups below the center of the bull is 115 grain FMJ Federal maroon bulk box.
    - the groups just above and to the right of center are Federal 150 grain Syntech
    - the sights are regulated for 115 grain FMJ ammo, you can see the difference in POI from the ammo change.
    - Fliers I would love to say are the gun but I have to claim them...they were at least local to where I called them.

I shoot composite different range groups on one target to get a good idea of where to set sights and where I don’t have to “range” for hits on practical targets.
