All I really wanted was a Beretta A300 from Dick's; but I saw this A400 Xcel at United Guns used, but in like new condition. Even used, it's twice as much as a new A300 synthetic. I think it's worth it. :D

Very nice. Digging the wood grain. I've been in synthetic stock rut for 20+ years, I am kinda rough on my guns I guess. I do love a pretty shotgun, and that one is sweet.

I got the A300 in synthetic.

It's my duck gun, and was great on the Pimlico Sound last year.

Will be taking it on a couple of trips this year.

Even though the A300 is a "duck" gun, I think it can also serve as a skeet/trap gun as well. Correct me if I am wrong, but the A300 drop at the heel can be adjusted with shims, the cast in/out (for right and left handed shooting) can be changed, and Beretta sells spacers to change the length of pull. So the shooter has the ability to change the fit of these of these Berettas to a large extent in a subtle way without having to use cheek pads. This is one thing that sold me on Beretta. I can't do all that with a Remmy 870.

That a ton more gun than an A300. Looks like it has the KO stock? Is the magazine cap weighted too? I shot one of those at Carney RG. Nice.

I was shooting wobble trap at Prince George's County Trap and Skeet with this shotgun; very comfortable to shoot. I did get a bit of cheek slap, but practically no felt recoil. When I shoulder the gun, the the front bead stacks right on top of the mid bead. However, even using the 45mm shim, it still shoots high.

I picked up an A300 from DSG yesterday. I'm going to give it a try for waterfowl this year, I'll probably shoot a few rounds of trap with it to get the feel of it.
