What form do I use if I wanted to put a vertical foregrip on a PLR-16?
Is it the same process as NFA weapon?

Does that apply in with MSP?

What the ATF ruling above deals with is the AFG that Magpul puts out (pictured). That ruling applies to both the ATF and the MSP.

If you wanted to put a true vertical grip (with a Form 1) on your PLR it would cost you a $200 tax stamp and the entire NFA process. If you had a licensed manufacturer "manufacture" (with a form 2) the PLR into an AOW it would transfer to you on a $5 tax stamp.

I think an SBR'ed Kel-Tec PLR-16 would be pretty bad ass. I think Kel-Tec sells a pistol grip/AR-stock kit for their SU-16 series; I wonder if that would fit.

The guns are basically the same thing. I believe they will interchange. of course you'd have to do the tax stamp process, but the stock should swap right on.

Midwest Industries just came out with a PLR 16 aluminum handguard.

It's pretty slick, and a much better option than the plastic type especially suppressed. That plastic handguard/piston system gets awful hot after rapid fire supressed.

Kel-Tec actually sells a SU-16D model that is an SBR. 9" or 12" barrels are available I believe. It's just a PLR "upper" mated with an SU rifle stock. Pretty slick, except for the whole federal paperwork bit.

    Thanks Andy.
Guess I will get that done next.
