    A good heads up Doc/Mel/Libz; apart from a Ballistol rinse and CLP, I typically remove the stock when I do a thorough cleaning.

    I do the same thing. I also strip my bolts after I shoot. They're just so easy to strip and reassemble I go ahead and wipe down and clean all the parts.

    I will fess-up and admit that I once tried to clean a bore with Naval Jelly. ONCE!

    It went everywhere and I know that you know what happened.

    NEVER CLEAN A BLUED GUN WITH NAVAL JELLY!!!!!

    Libz, lol, yeah, I have an idea of how that ended; I have had to use naval jelly then rustoleum to combat rust before, and it never ceases to fascinate me how quick bluing comes off with naval jelly.
