There is a 2A rights restoration case outstanding that is to be decided within the next week:

    Voisine v. United States

Stephen Voisine and William Armstrong, the other petitioner in this case, both pleaded guilty in state court to misdemeanor assaults on their respective domestic partners. Several years later, each man was charged with violating a federal law that prohibits the possession of firearms and ammunition by individuals who have previously been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence. Voisine and Armstrong contend their state convictions do not automatically qualify as misdemeanor crimes of domestic violence because the state-law provisions can be violated by conduct that is merely reckless, rather than intentional.

Yes but keep in mind that if a Democrat gets to appoint a SC Justice then it is basically game over. Right now there aren't enough justices for a 4-4 split on guns. So if you are a libertarian like me you have to think of the big picture and not just yourself. Also keep in mind if you don't live in a state like Maryland or California this could still affect you. Someone could conceivably challenge a good gun law and have that taken up to a liberal leaning SC. That would not be good for anyone and there are plenty of Dem AG's in gun friendly states that could do just that.

Maybe Thomas convinced his peers to only impose a firearms disability for felonies?
