I have owned many guns in different calibers. I have a .40 barrel for my sig 229 .357. If I were to purchase " another forty " it would be a brand I have never owned like a CZ. But since you do not a forty at all, I would say either glock or sig.

Some info for PaytoPlay, I got a NIB SigPro 2022 for $418. Pistol, three magazines, cable lock, night sights. It's a polymer frame, so the reduced price. But all the Sig performance you'd expect. I love this pistol.

You can tell this thread is old by all the posts on the first page...

They are actually helping him find a 40 cal gun, instead of turning it into a "40 is ghey" thread by the 3rd post.

Yeah, we should kill this thread. Certainly a consensus answer was reached three years ago, and the end-all, be-all answer to the question 'best pistol in .40S&W under $500' could not possibly have new input or thinking since. Especially since neither new pistols nor new information has become available.

100% agreed- Lou at Shooters Discount had them as of a few weeks ago. H&K pistols are God's gift to handgun shooters. I'll never understand why someone would buy another brand for roughly the same money.

Yes, definitely better than those goofy plastic pistols from the hill billy East Reich.... ;)
