The earlier post about the High Standard Model HD reminded me. Got this early Model B (in .22LR, ser. no. 182xx) at the Gun Bunker in Shrewsbury after the York show last October. Got the spare magazine from the older gentleman selling mags for old pistols at a subsequent Chantilly show.

Never got an answer from High Standard about the actual manufacture/delivery date. :sad20:

Had a little trouble at first disassembling it, but a youtube video cleared everything up.

Nice model B. It was shipped sometime in 1937.

Have you shot it yet? If not, bring it to our next shoot. I'll bring a model B with the 4.5" barrel for you to shoot and compare.

Rich, you're a mine of information about older US handguns! Haven't shot it yet, but have stocked up on CCI standard velocity .22LR; I've read that high velocity fodder should't be used. See you in March (if not before) for a comparison.

Thanks Bryan. High Standards are really nice shooters. I'll also bring a model A and model D so you can try a large frame High Standard from that same series.
