Wasn't sure where to put this, so here goes.

My local ISP, RadixNet, is going out of business as of June 30. I've used their services for about 15 years, more or less, and it's all been good.

Problem is, my personal web page and all its contents:

    http://www.radix.net/~bbrown

is also going away, along with all the firearms-related information. Gotta find a new host that won't charge me an arm and a leg.

    Suggestions welcome.

    Thanks,

    Bryan

    Bryan,
Afraid I can't offer help on your problem, but if I were you I'd ask the mods to move this to the Water Cooler. You'll most likely get a much better response.

EDIT: Or just delete your original and repost in the WC. You've got well over the 50 post minimum.

I've used dreamhost for a couple years. Completely satisfied.

After more than 20 years in web dev. business - One word: HostGator!

    http://www.hostgator.com/

It doesn't get any better than $3.96/mo (except for free). Great uptime and speed. More than enough space (unlimited), bandwidth (unlimited), awesome service and a very easy to use admin control panel.

Bryan - are you a CLI guy?

If you are, there's always freeshell :D

I was on Radix for a long time, back when they started I knew the then-sysadmins/owners from social connections, I'm sorry to see them go.

Yeah, most of my stuff at work is via the Linux CLI. My web pages at Radix are hand-built via a text editor and the CLI on my home Mac. No-frills stuff, not needed.

The web pages have become pretty static over the years, mostly since stuff like German/Japanese maker marks, Swiss rifle serial numbers, etc., haven't changed.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I've posted a notice over on gunboards.com. If nobody seems to use the web pages any more I'll just let them vanish and save myself a few dollars a month.
