-Years ago somd_mustangs shared photos of his latest find: a beautiful WWI period holster for the Savage 1907 used by the French and Portuguese. Easy to ID with a distinctive "A.E." stamp on the back. They come to market infrequently and usually in only good to fair condition. After many years of no success I gave up the search.
-Fast forward to today and I'm looking for an Audley or Heiser holster for the latest Savage auto to enter the collection. No luck on that front but what do I find in the process? That A.E. marked holster that eluded me for nearly 20 yrs. The cherry on top was that it was in mint condition and I managed to scoop it up for just $111 OTD. Very much worth the wait.
