I hate to start a thread for these, but I think you guys will appreciate them. A guy posted these on a Facebook group this weekend. His description (with my edits):
"Two of my favorite walnut-stocked Mosins. The 91/30 is a Spanish Civil War rifle that was fully refurbished in Spain to include a new Spanish made stock made of walnut. It's cut slightly differently than the Soviet stocks. You can tell as there are no metal ends on the hand guard, and you can see that the finger grooves have slightly different dimensions.
The M91 is a Remington that came out of the Balkans. The forearm is birch and spliced nicely to the butt stock. The splice was presumably done in Romania."
I've never seen a Mosin in a walnut stock, although I admit I am no expert and haven't seen a billion Mosins in the first place. Anyway, enjoy.
