A new to me 1903 pocket hammerless 32 ACP has got a problem. This is a 1944 vnitage gun with a mismatched slide. The slide withdraws smoothly until just short of where it needs to be in order to pick up a round. At that point it begins to bind to the point where the return spring will not return the slide to battery. Inspecting the slide and frame I cannot determine where or why the slide is binding. I live in Bethesda and was hoping for a referral to someone experienced in repairing these old Colts. I have no intention of even test firing until this binding issue can be solved.

I think I have a couple of spare Type III-V slides if you needed to borrow one for troubleshooting.

Blaster229 - yes! As soon as the slide passes the rear of the magazine it moves freely and snaps into battery just as I would expect.
