Purchase a Complete Lower , that will probably also have generic collapsible stock .

    Remove buttstock.

    Install * Pistol Buffer Tube * .

THEN proceed with pistol type upper .

Not totally plug and play , but unscrewing a buttstock is much simpler, and requiring of l r ss mechanical skill than building a lower from stripped .

There is a minority opinion that the " tube portion " of adjustable stock , with " sliding portion " removed is Not a buttstock , and thus legally a " pistol acceptable buffer tube " . Is such assertion correct ? I can't easily , conclusively DISprove it , but knurled pistol buffers are cheap and available enough to not go there .

A standard buffer tube without a rifle stock attached is good to go. Many pistol braces are made to mount onto standard carbine buffer tubes.
