PSA Barrels are generally very good.

Stainless may not be a great choice for a truck gun in cold temps. Stainless does not behave as well as a 4140 or 4150 steel in freezing temps.

Otherwise Stainless barrels are good for an AR.

Thank you sir! I just ordered it and an upper build kit and we will see what we see.

I always wondered about all these new stainless barrels that I have been seeing recently and now that you say they are good I felt great about ordering it.

Does barrel profile of A2 meet the silly standard here in MD?

I have plenty of pre ban lowers left

    Yeah. Copy.

    Neither do I...

Just trying to get Lord Chadley's goat. But he dint leave it out.

as a community we are lucky to have someone like Chad to help guide us.

and someone like me ( and many other I am sure) who don't know him personally but can ask him questions and get such good advice....priceless.

I don't think that is legal? It needed to be configured as a non hbar before oct 2013? I think? You may need to switch some hbars and non hbars around so you stay compliant by putting it on a lower that was pre-2013 configured as a non-hbar. Stay legal my friend.

If I am incorrect, please correct me.

Negative. If you have a lower bought before 10/1/13 you can build it into a non HBAR configuration. Call them being "grandfathered" in before the law changed.

All ass-grabbery aside(and I love this kind of stuff), I, personally, would prefer a 1:8 for a "beater" AR barrel. It would be friendlier to a more varied ammo choice.

I wondered about that but this one popped up on sale and seems priced right. A bunch of my other ar's are 1 in 7 and they run well. Stainless, wylde chamber, priced right. I will give it a try

Ive had good luck with a few PSA barrels so far. So far ive put together four of them and they shoot pretty good and are still running great five years later.
