Yeah, it's certainly tempting. Haven't been able to convince myself that it's worth it yet.
But you better be sure that if I ever were attacked, whoever was doing the attacking would have a hell of a fight on their hands. I don't have much "formal" fighting skill or training, but I do have a damn hard skull and a severe unwillingness to let some scumbag get the drop on me without working for it.
If you or your girl are interested in getting some formal training, check out Krav Maga Maryland http://www.kravmd.com I can't vouch for them personally as I haven't gotten over there yet, but everyone at work who has gone there have said nothing but good things about them. Besides, if Krav Maga is good enough for the Israelis...
