I’ve been hovering around 2k rds of 9mm range ammo just by making an online order every chance I get. It’s getting tougher now though so I’m on the fence about this next match.

Right now I’m in middle TN and I was at the Academy Sports in Cookeville at opening time today - they had zilch.

You are not alone. Twenty Fours hours after registration opened and we still have 27 slots open. Gearing up for a slow 2021 season.

Look what you made me do, Mike. We go to visit friends, and there are now four of us tuning up for steel matches. Dropped hundreds on hardware and time setting up at the undisclosed location this weekend. Once it was in place, we never got anything else done except shooting and eating steaks. The ladies just love ringing that steel. Need a new stop plate, though - this one just goes “bonk” or “smack” or “clank.”

AGC has spoiled us with the high quality targets.

Nice. I have gotten three pieces of steel for using at AGC with the action committee kits, the IDPA, a 12 inch and an 8 inch.

I have one full sized piece with two moving hit targets in that got two holes in it at a friends range years ago with some butthead shooting it with AP from a Mosin...

Alas, not gonna be able to make this 3gun match due to a conflicting pistol class on that Sunday (that I paid for already).

I lost access to my "undisclosed location" last year, and not being able to practice shooting on the move and multiple targets is frustrating. I was at Guntry yesterday to sight in my rifle's optic and kept thinking how boring it was shooting one target. Now that I an RDS on my CZ pistol, I'd love to practice shooting with my new prescription shooting glasses--want a switch from PCC. Ah well, nice setup and sounded like a fun day for you all.

I just signed up and as this will be my first steel event, or any competition event for that matter, it will be interesting. Not looking for anything other than experience.

The August match was my first competition - just let them know you’re new when you show up and there will be plenty of friendly people there to show you the ropes. When I showed up I found the first guy who looked like an RO and said “hey I’m new and I don’t really know wtf I’m doing” and everything after that was pretty smooth sailing.

If I can snag a few boxes of 9mm somewhere before I head home to MD I’ll probably sign up.
