So I won the good doctor's karma, and need to build my first 80% Glock. Can anyone point me toward the best option for frame and slide parts? Are they in stock anywhere? Thanks.

I believe all the parts of a G19 and G26 parts kits are interchangeable. I may have a lower parts kit for a G19. I'll double check and throw one in the box if I do. I'll check when I get home. I'll even polish the contact points. :D

eBay usually have complete uppers available. I haven’t looked in quite some time but OEM slides were plentiful. Also try the Glock store for lower kits.

I think the only difference with the p80 26 is the slide lock spring but I think the coil spring that it uses comes with the frame.

Ah, an aftermarket slide lock may be easier (and cheaper) to find than the whole kit. Thanks!

George helped me build mine. He polished the contact point for sure. Still sore.

Yeah, you could get by without it. Probably better to put it in, since it's held in place by the hammer pin.

I'm talking about the slide lock not the slide stop lever/slide release. The 19 parts kits come with a flat spring that pushes it up to lock the slide from coming off the front. The subcompact uses a coil spring to provide pressure and I think it comes with the p80 kit. So the 19 frame parts kit will work fine then you just use the coil spring instead of the flat spring that comes with the frame parts.

See page 14 of the p80 instructions for the sc.

Be careful installing it. the flat springs in the 19 are easier to get in. The coil spring is easy to launch across the room while trying to hold it down and get the slide lock through.

Good idea. There was one OEM slide kit there.

If you are uncertain.. Sometimes they word the description funny to intentionally be deceptive as to the manufacturer... Send em a message. You don't wanna end up with a knock off parts kit, especially paying the premium these command nowadays.

The whole OEM Glock v P80 v whatever, gets a little confusing. Many parts sold as OEM Glock, I feel are not at all, given the fact that some of those parts are not interchangeable between the two manufacturers. Does Glock actually make P80 parts? I don't know. I do know that Glock trigger housings are not interchangeable with P80 frames. The parts within them are, but the housing itself is not. I buy a lot of parts for P80s from Rockey Brass, Lone Wolf, etc and they all work, more or less. They all seem to require refining in the way of polishing and such, which I think is part of the fun of building 80% gun kits. The P80 boom along with the popularity of Glocks themselves has spawned many new off-shoot companies vying for a part of the Glock/P80 market. Many of which are upgraded parts and are needed improvements.

Something to think about, modern Glock extractors made towards the end of the third iteration of the gen 1, on to modern generations can be problematic. They are made of pot metal as opposed to billet. Aftermarket billet extractors are out there and should be considered as well as gen 5 Glock ejectors(interchangeable), especially if you find your P80 build experiencing ejection problems.

I'm not sure about the model you won, but I do know that you have to be sure you get a Gen3 parts kit for a 17. I bought a lower parts kit from a big vendor at a gun show that alllllmost worked. After a lot of in and out and fiddling around and comparing it to a real Glock, I determined that the trigger bar was simply too long. It would fit in, but the trigger just wasn't right. I never tried it with live ammo, but it would indeed dry fire. In fact, it would dry fire without even pushing in the safety lever in the middle of the trigger

I took it to my LGS who immediately said, "That's a Gen4 trigger, see the little dimple right there? Dead giveaway." All the other parts seemed to be the same, and he got me a proper Gen3 trigger. It could have been really dangerous.

This picture from the web highlights the little dimple or "bump" on the part that lifts the firing pin block that makes it clearly Gen4, not 3:
