    Since when does 'legally' mean anything ? Diversified machining, P-80 ect You buy something online/via credit card it will leave a paper trail. Several of my coworkers bought between all of them probably 12 dozen AR lowers in the past 4 years. The same ones who are paranoid about the day when someone comes through their door looking for their guns. Yet they bought all of those online via credit card and think .gov doesnt know about them :lol2:

    My wife used to smoke. Damn cigarettes are expensive. So about 15 years ago, I started buying her untaxed cigarettes online. Yeah! Stickin' it to the Tax Man!

    After about six or ten months, I got a friendly letter in the mail from the Office of the Comptroller of Maryland. It was a demand for payment of unpaid excise taxes.

    I decided not to die on that hill, and sent them a check.

    Yup. That’s the problem with that stuff.

    The government probably doesn’t know now. They aren’t as all knowing as many assume. But it is just one subpoena for business records away from them knowing. And most people aren’t willing to go to prison for internal revenue code violations by routinely destroying business records related to financial transactions in the normal course of business or risk obstruction of Justice charges by destroying business records after getting subpoenaed.

    In serious answer, probably no. NY didn’t outlaw possession by the common folk. They just banned sales/purchases/transfers to the common folk absent a really damned good reason.

    You can still possess it.
