Checked out the NRA range for the first time today, what a place. My wife got me a training class there for Christmas and I finally cashed that present in. The facility is really nice, and it was a big confidence booster to get some formal training for all the basics. I think I finally know where both my thumbs should be now. :)

Now we just need a nice indoor place like that in each MD county. :innocent0

Very nice facility, air lock range entrance & exit, and reasonable fees. Its popularity ensures some waiting for your hour on the line.

Sad that they restrict brass collection - tough on reloaders.

Also, to preserve their air quality there is no black powder shooting allowed.

I always collect my brass and I've never been told not to.

1.-no real wait on Moday or Friday if you arrive first thing.

    2. They allow you to collect your OWN brass. I was admonished not to give mine to a guy next to me who asked for it. They sell that stuff.

That's my experience -I shoot there frequently.

I guess that depends on who is on duty. I've asked for and received brass from others on multiple trips there.

I also asked my neighbor for his brass. I guess I better be on the lookout for Martha next time :D

Fantastic range and I shoot there on a weekly basis.

It's the best indoor range in Northern Virginia.

I've never had an issue with any RSO telling me to not collect my own brass, FWIW.

Yeah, the RSO just told me not to give mine to the shooter next to me. She had no issue with collecting my own.

That was the rule that I remember reading, collect your own is fine but leave the rest. Admittedly, I don't reload and I'm still learning the basics of shooting, so my interest in the brass only extends as far as getting it out from under my own feet. If there were any unwritten rules or etiquette in play, I didn't pick up on it.
