Boy Scout Leadership training (NRA)

Hello,

My sons Boy Scout Troop's adult leadership have decided to become Marksmanship Merit Badge councilors. One of the leaders also has enough land to build a .22 rimfire range so we will also need RO training. The Troop is in the Reisterstown area.

Boy Scouts of America only recognize NRA training so we need NRA training.

We want these boys to learn about firearm safety and marksmanship as both are a dying are in today's youth.

If you are an NRA trainer in the Reisterstown area please send me your contact information.

Thanks in advance,

JT

BSA does require NRA Instructors in the discipline being shot; rifle or shotgun. They also require an NRA trained RSO who needs to separate from the discipline instructor. The easiest way of satisfying this is to check the NRA website below and have a couple of parents become instructors. This is what we did several years ago. I picked up my Rifle Instructor, Shotgun Instructor, and RSO certifications by taking local NRA Instructor Courses. They were great classes and well worth taking, and it's a great way of promoting the future of shooting sports.

Thank you. Your plan is exactly what we are trying to do. We need NRA training to get the same certifications and I was looking for a local instructor that we could host at a private range. We will travel if that is not possible.
