If you don't feel like reading it. Connecticut has had a similar "red flag" law on the books since 1999. In only 10% of the cases are the guns returned immediately. Average of 7 guns per seizure.
According the statistics in the article 14% are never returned and 76% (requires a bit of math) judge orders guns to be held for 1 year in police storage.
