What would be an affordable C&R double action 22LR revolver? Love my Single Six but I find myself yearning for another wheel gun.

Early H&R 999 would be my choice. But there are some great S&W early guns too, expect to pay some $$s

I have a C&R High Standard 6" 9 shot double action that's a lot of fun to shoot. It's my wife's favorite. It's rather stiff in double action so we generally shoot it single action. They are also sold under the J C Higgins name (Sears).

My Father bought me my first handgun when I was 16, it was a High Standard Double Nine. I loved that gun, I gave it to my Brother years ago, wish I still had it.

The old Iver Johnson Model 55 meets your criteria but I'm not sure how many survived. It's a pain to load but very accurate.

Saw a bunch of 32 cal revolvers selling for @ $60 each at an auction last month... Heck, antique pocket .22's were going for the same price. Woe on me for not having more funds...

Splurge for an old K22, you won't be disappointed. One of the classic 22's everyone who appreciates older guns should own.

What he said. I bought a 1951 manufactured sw a few years ago. 6” and adjustable sights. If you like shooting DA, you don’t want to be struggling with the trigger. You won’t with one of these old SWs.

There was one of these at the Chantilly show today. I was sorely tempted.

After stupidly selling my S&W M43 years ago, I finally found one at a reasonable price on GB, bought it with my FFL03.

I have several old H&R’s, Iver Johnson, and Hi Standards. Some are break action, which I prefer because I like the auto eject of the H&R and others. Each of them have had pretty bad double action triggers but I got used to them by dry firing and oiling, then dry firing and oiling over and over. These are some very accurate 6” revolvers and they have made me proficient at double action firing while keeping these heavy triggered monsters on target.

Ive got a couple old .22 revolvers like what you are looking for. All fun guns to plink with. I agree with LS1, i just finally spent the money and bought two K22 revolvers . So both of these will prob be in the classifieds sooner or later

    H&R ".22 special" .22lr
    High standard "double 9"
